Questions & Answers
About Our Care
How Our Services Work
Practical Details
Can I switch between packages?
Yes. We understand your needs change as you recover. You can upgrade or downgrade packages with 30 days notice. We'll work with you to find the right fit as your postpartum journey evolves.
What if I need a service not in my Threshold or Restored plan?
You can add individual services à la carte at any time. Your concierge will help you determine the most cost-effective approach based on your changing needs.
How does concierge coordination work?
Your dedicated concierge manages all scheduling, communicates with your care team, and proactively adjusts your plan as needed. You get one point of contact for everything, removing the burden of coordinating multiple providers.
Does The Alabaster House replace my OB or midwife?
No. Our services are designed to complement your medical care, not replace it. We work alongside your healthcare providers to support your physical, emotional, and mental well-being during pregnancy and postpartum. Always consult your OB or midwife for medical concerns.
What makes The Alabaster House different?
We believe mothers deserve more than just appointments and checklists. At The Alabaster House, you are seen, heard, and supported as a whole person. Our team comes together to surround you with care — body, mind, and heart — so you don’t have to navigate this season on your own.
Can I use The Alabaster House if I’m not pregnant?
Yes, absolutely. While our focus is on pregnancy and postpartum, we know the seasons before and after are just as important in the journey. Whether you’re preparing your body for pregnancy, supporting your recovery long after birth, or simply seeking care in a nurturing environment, you are welcome here. Our doors are open to women in every stage of your story.
Do you support partners and families too? Can my partner come?
Yes! While our heart is focused on mothers, we know that support for the whole family makes a big difference. Partners and family members are often included in our services so that everyone feels prepared, connected, and cared for. Ask your concierge for more details.
Can I book services individually, or do I need a package?
You can book services individually as needed. However, many families find that combining services — such as Doula support with lactation guidance and physical therapy — either in a custom or predesigned program, offers the most complete experience.
Where are services provided? Do I have to come into the Studio?
Many of our services can be provided in person and virtually. Our studio offers a warm and refined environment with dedicated spaces and equipment for services that may be best in person (e.g., Physical Therapy, Pilates, Lactation consults). Many consultation-style services can also be done online. We’ll work with you to find the right fit for your needs and comfort.
Can I bring my baby?
Of course! While our focus is on caring for mothers, our space is designed to welcome little ones where it makes sense. In our physical therapy and consult rooms, we can provide a bassinet or bouncer for your baby’s comfort. You’ll also find a cozy space for nursing and a changing table in the bathroom. Your baby will be cared for while you are, too.
I’m not sure which service is right for me. Can someone guide me?
Absolutely. That’s exactly what our Maternity Concierge service is for. We’ll sit down with you, listen to your story, and help map out a plan that feels right for you and your family.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Scheduling is simple — you can book directly on our website or reach out to us by phone or email. If you’re not sure where to start, just contact us and we’ll help guide you to the right provider and service.
Do you accept insurance?
Right now, we do not accept insurance. We know that matters to many families, and it’s something we’re actively working on for the future. In the meantime, we can provide documentation to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, and help you determine which services (e.g. Mental Therapy) may be HSA/FSA eligible.
Can I offer TAH as a benefit for my employees?
Yes! We love partnering with employers to ensure their teams feel supported and cared for during pregnancy and postpartum. While we are still working toward being covered by insurance, we currently offer direct partnerships with employers to provide meaningful benefits that support employees at this critical stage of their lives.
