Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

The Role

The Alabaster House delivers wraparound care by weaving together physical, emotional, and social support for pregnant and postpartum women, all through a streamlined concierge-led suite of offerings.

Lactation support is a cornerstone of this care, ensuring women have the tools, expertise, and guidance they need to meet their infant feeding goals with confidence.

We are seeking skilled, compassionate Lactation Consultants to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with specialized knowledge in common breastfeeding challenges, infant feeding, and postpartum support. This is a role for someone who is both clinically proficient and deeply empathetic; a practitioner who thrives on creating individualized feeding plans and who values collaboration in a multidisciplinary care environment. The role includes evaluating, counseling, educating, and supporting patients in the Atlanta area through in-home visits, in-studio appointments, and telehealth consultations.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide expert lactation and infant feeding support in our Morningside studio, via telehealth, or through in-home visits.

  • Assess and address feeding challenges, including latching, supply, bottle-feeding, and equipment issues.

  • Partner with parents to create individualized feeding plans that support their goals—whether exclusively breastfeeding, supplementing with formula, or transitioning fully to formula.

  • Evaluate infant feeding adequacy and maternal comfort/progress, adjusting care plans as needed.

  • Offer instruction, counseling, and teaching interventions tailored to the family’s goals, cultural context, language, and literacy level.

  • Document care, education, and client progress in the client management system according to practice standards.

  • Provide timely responses to client questions via secure messaging.

  • Maintain knowledge of and apply current best practices in lactation, infant feeding, and perinatal nutrition.

  • Curate, review, and update educational materials that reflect a full range of feeding options and support families’ informed choices.

  • Supply clients with recommended tools and resources (e.g., nipple shields, supplemental feeding aids) to promote successful feeding.

  • Engage in ongoing professional growth and continuing education in infant feeding and patient education techniques.

  • Consistently ensure a world-class level of care and patient experience; ensure all services are completed according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
